Jacob and Eddie ventured out to Springfield, NH to meet Bill and Mike of Hoptimystic Brewing.  We had way too many laughs, learned how they started (during a pandemic nonetheless!) and had lots of tasty beers.  We even were treated to some homebrews!

The Department of Justice gave its approval on Friday, Sept. 18 for Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD) to move ahead with its acquisition of Craft Brew Alliance (NASDAQ:BREW) -- or what Craft Brew calls an "expanded partnership." The deal been in limbo since February, when an antitrust examination began, but has now cleared a major hurdle on the way to closing.

The approval is contingent on the two parties' agreement to sell the Hawaiian operations of Kona Brewing to PV Brewing Partners, LLC. Craft Brew Alliance and Anheuser-Busch suggested the divestiture back on June 10 as a way to "expedite the regulatory review process and alleviate potential regulatory concerns."

Anheuser-Busch InBev and Craft Brew Alliance will grant PV Brewing Partners a perpetual license to brew and market Kona beer in Hawaii, along with selling it a new brewery with a capacity of 100,000 barrels and other Kona facilities in the state.

Anheuser-Busch has owned a 31% stake in Craft Brew since 2016, but the deal will give it 100% ownership, paying $16.50 per share to Craft Brew's shareholders at closing. CBA's shares ended Friday trading up 6% on the news. Anheuser-Busch's Brewers Collective president Marcelo Michaelis said the beverage giant expects the combination "to help fuel the growth of the craft beer category" in the "competitive and dynamic" American beer market.

Eddie and Jacob went on a hike and almost died. A lot of jimbos were had and we lived to tell the tale.

Kez takes over the host chair from Jacob at our annual Craftmas! This episode was wacky, went all over the place and plenty of beers were had.

We tackle the annual South Shore Farmers Brewfest.  We had a table set up, gave out free stuff, and had people stop by to chit chat.  This part one contains Shoveltown Brewery, Yankee Brews News, The Juice Mill (amazing apple cider), Black Hat Brewery (the host!) and Burke's Candles.  It's a wacky episode that was done outside at a brew fest.

We played a brand new segment called Saddle Scales! It was a hit.

We talk about breweries and beers we like, what makes a good brewery and how they got into being beer snobs.

They're not snobs tho. 

 

We had a blast with Steve from Barrel House Z who brought over a first sip, Spruce Lee.  We played some segments including Barrel or House and know your house beers.  We also asked where Steve was on 9/11 and we got to try a maple porter that was made by the Beers and Laughs team.

This is an old episode with Kristin, Krystyna and Eddie as we spentt the day drinking beers and podcasting.

Eddie hosts and two minutes in gets fired.  We break down the trump documentary and I forget what beers we drank.

Lord Hobo Brewery joins the show this month as we drink their amazing beers, Comedian Ted Pettingell joins as well!

We interviewed the brewery and discuss their beers they brought; Virtuoso, Boom Sauce, Glorious, Angelica and Hobo Lite.  We asked them about their underwear and even played a fun game, Lord or Hobo.

We got to try Jacob and Ted's SMASH, which is a one grain and one hop batch. They used American 2 Row grain and Mosiac hops.

Next we interviewed Ted on how to be a better podcast and played Movies in other words.

As always, we gave away a ton of free shit including Burke's CANdles, hats, shirts,m coasters, koozies and more!

Logan swings by to drink some bad ass Lagunitas, Stone and Night Shift.

We drink the Lagunitas Doppel Weizen, Stone Tangerine IPA and Night Shift Homestead. 

We discuss Logan's start in comedy, the South Shore Boyz, bands and other things that I am forgetting as I type this.
